Dear Parents and Students:

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL EVERYONE!!

We’ve another exciting year planned for you this year! Mr. Menn, our new Assistant Theatre Director, officially joins us as an acting instructor for the Theatre I – IV classes. Ms. Wilson will be the Technical Theatre I-IV instructor throughout the day. We are excited about the changes and look forward to our classes and to our first production!
Auditions for “Noises Off” occur on Monday and Tuesday, August 30-31, in the PAC from 3:30-5:30 PM. You must be present for both days in order to be considered for a role. Be on time each day. The show opens on October 14-16 and will perform in the PAC.
Auditions for ComedySportz, High School League, will occur on Tuesday, August 31, beginning at 5:30 PM in the Black Box Theatre. Only students enrolled in a theatre class and/or a Thespian may audition! Remember that this is coached by the professional ComedySportz “actletes.” It is an exciting event which is also paid for by you. See Ms. Wilson for the details before you audition.

 

On Saturday, August 28, the Maverick Theatre Company (that means you!) will hold a Car Wash from 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM at Kroger on Fry Rd. You can earn Production Hours for washing cars and will get to know some of the other members of the MTC!
The theatre will also host our Parents on Tuesday, September 7, at 7:00 PM, in the Black Box Theatre to officially welcome them and for you to “showcase” our MTC in a Theatre Revue. Sounds like fun; join us.
Meet other theatre students on Thursday, August 26, immediately after school in Room 1134 for an introduction to all the Thespians and to learn how YOU too can be inducted into our Chapter 6861 Thespian Troupe.
Pick up your car drawing tickets ($10. Each) and sell them to EVERYONE!! The more tickets you buy, the more opportunity you have to win a car, gift certificates to Gallery Furniture or t.v.’s!!!

August 24: Thespian Officers Mandatory meeting immediately after school (2:45) in Room 1134

August 26: Theatre/Thespian students meet Thespian Officers immediately after school (2:45) in Room 1134.

August 28: CAR WASH at Kroger on Fry, 9:30-2:00

August 30: All School OPEN HOUSE – Parents have the opportunity to meet your teachers!

August 30-31: Auditions for “Noises Off” in the PAC, 3:30-5:30 PM

August 31: Auditions for ComedySportz HSL beginning at 5:30.
(This is your only opportunity to be considered for ComedySportz!)

September 1: Rehearsals for “Noises Off” begin, 3:30-5:30. You will receive a calendar with times and dates for all rehearsals and crew calls.

September 7: Theatre OPEN HOUSE for parents and you, 7:00 PM in the Black Box Theatre. Students will perform a short “Theatre Revue” to showcase our theatre plans for the year.

 

September 7: Begin Otis Spunkmeyer Cookie Dough campaign.

September 14: ComedySportz HSL hold first MANDATORY practice, 5:30 in the BBT.
