October 2008

Dear Parents:

School and all extracurricular activities seem to be back in full swing in Katy ISD after Hurricane Ike did its damage ! The Theatre Department is no exception as we scurry to put the final touches on our first production of the year « Arsenic and Old Lace « which opens on October 9 at 7 :00 PM in the Black Box Theatre. The show runs for three more performances on Friday and Saturday, October 10-11 at 7:00 PM. We are also performing a matinee on Saturday at 2 :00 PM.

« Arsenic and Old Lace » is a delightful comedy involving two eccentric elderly ladies, their eccentric nephew Teddy who believes he is Teddy Roosevelt, another nephew Mortimer, the Drama Critic, and their estranged nephew Jonathan who strongly resembles Boris Karlof. The plot spins around the efforts of the aunts as they help lonely old men who frequent their home in search of a room to rent pass on to their « next life. » It is a show you will want to see !
